How to Safely Setup a Firework Rocket
How to – Safely Setup a firework rocket: Below we have provided a Safety instructional video that will guide you on how to setup a firework rocket safely.
You will Need
- Stake of wood
- Club hammer
- Duct tape
- Plastic bag
- Your firework rocket
Setting up your cake firework
To setup a firework rocket, first, use the club hammer to bang the stake into the ground to make a hole. Take the tube that comes with the firework/ or one that you have supplied yourself and push it into your hole, making sure that it’s firm and secure.
Most big rockets come hinged. If yours does, open the hinge and slide the locking bracket down to lock it in place. Put the rocket into the firing tube, so that it sits loosely in the firing tube (please do not dig the rocket into the ground!). You will see the spigot at the bottom that contains the fuse.
Put the plastic bag over the top and then seal it in place using the duct tape by doing this you can help prevent the firework getting wet in case of rain, mist, dew or directly from moisture from the air.
Firing the cake
When it’s time to fire the rocket, later in the evening, just tear off the plastic bag. Pull the spigot from the bottom of the rocket to reveal the fuse and light it. Approximately seven seconds later, your cake will fire.
The Firework Code
Always remember the firework code. Have a look through our Firework Safety Page before you fire any fireworks.
