The British Firework Championships 2018
This annual event started in 1997 and was created by The Event Services Association (TESA) who represent the outdoor events industry in the UK.
The British Firework Championships 2018 is an event were various professional firework display teams compete against one another to show off their skills on putting on a firework display.
It is hosted in Plymouth every year. The location was picked because its felt to provide and a natural amphitheatre where large-scale pyrotechnics could be used in safety with spectacular views for the public.
Each year six professional display companies are selected by a draw to compete against each other over two days. Three teams each night of the event, a winner is then picked and scored by a panel of judges.
Every six years there is a champions event. In which winners from the previous five years plus the previous champion of champions return to once again do battle in the skies. For the grand and overall title of Champion of Champions.
There are lots to see and do the is a full fun fair with lots or thrilling rides and food and drink. There is also live entertainment and music provided by Heart FM.
it all takes place on the Hoe which is the main focal point for watching the Firework Championships, and the entertainment is provided here on both nights of the event.
It’s also a FREE event so why not take the whole family and enjoy the firework shows. We do advise booking hotels or places to stay early though and this two-day event attracts around 100,000+ people every year.
