Thames Fireworks Display Cancelled
The Annual Gravesend and Ebsfleet firework display has been canceled this year due to a beluga whale called Benny being spotted in the water between Gravesend and Tilbury, Essex.
The Firework Displays attracts around 15,000 spectators every year and is a huge hit among all the locals with people attending from all over Kent.
Gravesham council have decided to cancel the event due to the beluga whale being spotted in the local waters and i worried the noise from the fireworks could scare or put unnecessary stress on Benny.
The council have also been informed that disturbing the whale would breach the Wildlife and Countryside Act,
“Keeping Benny Safe has to be our Priority” a spokesmen for Gravesham council said.
