The Art of Writing, Pictures and Logo’s with Fireworks

What is lancework?

Lancework is fireworks that depict signs, symbols or logos, or that spell out names and messages. And is built on a framework using small specially designed fireworks called lances.

What is a lance?

Lances are individual small fireworks that make up the pixels in a set-piece. And usually are about the size of a chalk stick, they contain a solid tube of firework composition. Finally, each lance is hand pressed and filled to burn for approximately sixty seconds.

Design, Build & Usage

Each and every piece is designed to your specification and then carefully handmade. As a guide, we suggest that all designs need to be large for visibility. Also please handle your lancework with care as they are fragile.

When you receive your lancework it must be unpacked carefully, and will have to be attached to two or more stout posts – nails or cable ties will do. Next, there is a single fuse that is used to light and the ignition will spread across the lances, revealing the image as the lances catch alight. And will burn for about a minute before fading.

Most users, of course, have other fireworks at the same time to emphasise the message.

Lancework

A Standard design uses lettering about 30cm / 12″ high, Estimate on a cost of £35 per letter + VAT + (delivery cost will depend on where you are located or where you would like it shipped to.)

• The Message “GOODNIGHT” £315.
• The Message “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” £455
• Other Symbols, logos, or graphics are by quotation only.

The whole process from start to finish including delivery usually takes between seven to fourteen working days.
